Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino. Medium (+) ruby-garnet. The nose is clean, with baked cherries, plums, earth and oak spice. The nose is developing. The palate is dry, with medium (+) acidity, tannins and alcohol. The tannins, however are smooth and polished. The palate is consistent with the nose, with a pleasantly balsamic, savory finish. Aged 30 months, of which 18 months in French oak barriques, this wine is an insane value in the $13-$15 range. It could outscore many a Chianti Classico, and just about any Chianti at this price point. One of the top Sangiovese of the night for many of the tasters. Still drinking well now, this has the stuffing to last several more years.

Tart cherry and medium bodied. Another year in the bottle added some maturity and depth to the flavors.

Average Chianti--like bodied with tart cherry and crisp acid. Easy drinking, but lacks depth.

Bright acidity. Sweet cherry medium finish. Fun wine, food friendly
