Pop and pour and tasted without food. Recorked and tasted over the following two days. Ruby red color. Somewhat cloudy. First impression is that there is Pinot funk, with a forest floor element and lacking in fruit. Over the next few days, the funk mellowed out a bit and allowed some bright red berry fruit to come through. A bit disjointed. Good but not outstanding. This was a bit funky and I was looking for greater depth and structure.

Tasting at Walter Scott Wines (Winery, Eola-Amity Hills): Barrel tasting at winery. Temperance is the highest elevation producing fruit today in Eola-Amity. Hugely aromatic nose has earthy fruit with a great herbal and floral quality. The palate has silky light-bodied fruit. Lithe and elegant. My favorite in the pinot line-up and one of my favorites of this tasting trip. 93-95.
