Opened, poured into a decanter, and tasted and enjoyed with food. Dark ruby-purple color. Nose offers dark fruits and spice notes; hint of forest floor. Deep dark fruit with a savory spice note, showing depth of flavor in a balanced package. Good acidity and freshness to balance the dark and savory fruit.

Sweet black cherry, spices and forest floor notes on the nose. Medium bodied (13.3% ABV) cool black cherry notes upfront, mixed with some bright and slightly tart red cherry notes. Mid-body is coming together, but isn't as well integrated as the 2014. Fruit shows good density and roundness, but doesn't have the elegance of the 2014. Backside has strawberry, tart red cherry, spices and earth. Given the level of tartness on the backside and the overall fruit-acidity balance, I would say this wine should be able to improve positively over the next year with plenty of additional time after that. I don't think it has the depth or complexity of the 2014, but it should improve along the same general path.

Not as good as previously noted and tasted in 2020. Might have been the Corkcicle cups as opposed to glass. Nice fruit but a little disappointed based on previous tasting.

Beautiful nose, earth and red fruit. Crunchy red fruit in the mouth, with a red fruit front moving quickly into a complex spice and earth middle and a long, tangy, high acidity finish as expected from Walter Scott. Vibrant and alive, more in line with what I expect from 2017 in terms of being "red and bright".
