Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Totally interesting, but not really profound. Darkish yellow. Nose of oxidization and raisins, lightly sherried palate with rather faint hints of melon and some nuts. Much more in the nose than on the palate. The classic match for these Jura wines is Comté cheese, and indeed the combination is quite good, bring more out of the wine and creating a rich, buttery nuttiness that resonates in the mouth. A wine of this type defies the neo-traditional scoring method; it suffices to say that it was enjoyable and we should leave it at that.
