Very Spanish nose with dark cherry, plum, coconut and dill from the oak, mud, beetroot, dried herbs, tobacco and pencil shavings. Actually kinda nice nose.
Good structure on the palate with medium(+) acidity and tannins in a medium(+) body. The problem here is the lack of concentration to the flavors. The mid is hollow and on the finish there's just tannins, cacao-like bitterness and vague fruit.
I'm a true fan of Alejandro Fernandez wines and especially Dehesa la Granja that year after year delivers great qpr and has proven to be very age worthy. This one on the other hand didn't leave any remaining impressions.

Dark dense red. Seductive dark fruit and vanilla on the nose. Medium bodied, lots of dark plum and blackberries with ample tannin grip. Great potential! Excellent qpr

Color: Transparent ruby. Nose: blood orange, spice, a hint of stinkiness like rotten egg. The stinkiness disappears after some aearation. Mouth: Nice attack from the tannins. Quite harmonious. Medium bodied wine.

This wine usually rests happily in my cellar until it's 8 to 12 years after vintage. Then it's perfectly meeting it's potential ... Although I haven't compared vintages carefully. This one is surprisingly approachable now considering its potential for longegrity. Excellent value and great for lovers of a savoury traditional Al Spanish style of RDD. Bought at Denner for CHF 11 instead if Mövenpick's CHF 22. Very good value for Switzerland but it does go on sale often...

Typical tempranillo. Dark red color. Earthy, peppery nose. Lacks a bit of fruit but excellent QPR at only $11.
