Elche, Returning to Crime Scene? Don't Even Think about it; 10/6/2023-10/8/2023 (Elche - Alicante): Cider apple essence receives you on the nose with memories of elderberry sap and soft lime cream plus blond tobacco from Virginia. Impressive precision. On the palate a decadent texture, refreshing acidity that penetrates the medium palate and fine sediments at finish. Fully digestible. Unfamiliars or beginners of this variety should collect here. The last quarter for service.

A remarkable experience. Off the bat, it sang, and after about two hours in the decanter it was shimmering—the kind of trousseau any Jura lover seeks out but is all too often disappointed. At only 10% ABV, I was expecting a raw, rugged acidity typical of many natural wine below 11%, but wow was I wrong. It was light on its feet, to be sure, but at the same time, an elegant and pure trousseau with endless depth. A whole lot of ripe strawberries overwhelmed at first, which gave way to, shrub, white balsamic, white pepper, rose, tarragon. I'd say this was drinking right at its peak, if a touch beyond. A beautiful wine.

Strongly reductive at first, so needed two hours in the decanter. The natural-style nose offers vegetal and rosy aromas, red berries and wet clay. A lovely light-bodied trousseau with freshness, tender grip, mineral sensations and low alcohol (only 10% abv). Enjoyable balance and high drinkability.

(Jean-François Ganevat Côtes du Jura Plein Sud) Medium red color with cloudiness; savory, fresh, hibiscus, rosehips, tart cranberry nose; fresh, delicious, cranberry, hibiscus, rosehips palate with a sense of salinity and near medium acidity; medium-plus finish
