Hanzell Vertical (Union Restaurant, Seattle.): Light nose with slight note of salmon fat which is present in texture and body. Fleshy taste, very nice structure and good acids to balance. Element of Amaretto. Very well-toned while both pretty and bold. Delight.

Hanzell Vertical (Seattle, WA): Marzipan. Rather full in the mouth with sweet pears, a hint of butterscotch. This falls off a little on the finish with a faint bitter pith note, but this was clearly the wine of the flight. Amazing fruit at 26 years!
