'95/'96 Champagne Celebration (Casa Gill): Maybe needed more air than the 1.5 hrs slow ox it got. Very pretty clos de beze, but more red fruity than showing any chambertin earth, so came off as slightly simple. Expanded with time open. Lovely sweet red cherry, a touch of coffee, some floral notes...on the palate, excellent energy, and very soft, almost completely attenuated tannin on the finish.

Compared to the Jadot Amoureuses that was served blind alongside it, this definitely came across as the fresher and prettier wine. Bright-red hue, this was showing very young, with chewy red-fruits and tinge of tea on the palate. Finished fresh & long. Not sure how this will continue on its curve of evolution though... not much experience with this maker...

Musky, earthy, cow patty, good length. After 1.5 hours, opening up some more, more earthy and barnyard rather than fruit. Good grip, a little chewy, almost Bordeaux like. After 3 hours, still drinking well, big palette, long. Maybe more the bottle than the vintage, but this bottle best days are behind it.

I thought was showing a bit more advanced than the vintage would dictate, far more tertiary flavors than I thought there would be without the stuffing of a wine of its age. I think if I was blinded I would have guessed ten years older. It was nice and easy drinking but just not what I expected from a 95.

needs airing and becomes quite OK , should not be kept much longer.
