1999 BROGAN CELLARS RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY PINOT NOIR- as with all other BC Pinots, this threw a significant amount of sediment; I decant the wines anyway but in this case, it is essential to do so unless one wants to chew more the drink; this bottling is another gem from Margi, Burt William`s daughter; made from 2 different blocks and different clones from the Lone Redwood Ranch Vineyard, this beauty had layers of goodness to offer from the nose through the tail; first there was distinct lavender and violets accents to the blueberry aromatics; blueberry becomes even more expressive in the taste profile as well as plum and black cherry enhanced by nice spicy, mild chocolate; it`s a generous mouthful of delight and holds on for a long, refreshing finish.

1999 BROGAN CELLARS RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY RESERVE PINOT NOIR- magnum; I believe I have this right that most if not all of the fruit came from Rochioli Vineyard and was the second pick of the harvest; with super ripe plum, black cherry and blackberry fruit, it was medium to full bodied with serious flavours unfolding in layers; there`s a nice spicy element and a hint of toast; it got even better with time.
