Poured through an aerating spout. Deep dark magenta color. Red plum, chocolate dust, licorice, sage, and burnt marshmallow. Smooth, dry, medium+ bodied palate, with sprightly acidity. Firm, full, medium intensity tannins on the medium long+ finish.
This is good, but could have used a bit more oomph on the back end. Another fun bottle opened by Mark1NPT at an awesome wine night.
Another solid bottle of this one. One of the many after dinner pnp's which we all enjoyed over 2-4 hours with son Andrew, Jim Aronson, Agelvis, the HMC's and Mr/Mrs jsmorris707.
Medium magenta in the glass.
Solid cab nose and a slightly more dark red fruited palate than some of the others tonight. Very balanced and well integrated for being a '15.

First bottle of a recent auction lot. Cork was dried out two-thirds of the way down and took work to retrieve the rest of it from the bottle. This had me concerned as potentially these were stored standing up and without proper humidity conditions. Nonetheless, enjoyed as our first bottle prior to sauce, raviolis and crusty bread. Same notes as prior bottles but relieved to see the carry over in quality and score from one vendor to another with this beautiful '15. This is rich fruit, layered, deep, and flavorful......and it only improves with air. Shines after a 1-2 hour slow ox in the bottle. The cassis is off the charts good. No harsh edges, it's integrating very nicely at this stage and I'm sure it could go another 20 years at this rate, but I worry my remaining corks won't last that long.
30 min double decant. Very very deep hazy ruby garnet color. Cinnamon, fig, blueberry, and madeleine cookie. Very smooth, dry palate. Firm, lower intensity tannins on the longish finish.
This is drinking at or just past it’s peak for me. Another great bottle supplied by Mark1NPT at our recent wine get together.

My first of an auction 3 pack that I brought for our event.....prepped with a 30 min double decant. This one was open for business very quickly. Medium to dark ruby in the glass, a complex and wonderful nose of cinnamon, perfumed blue and black fruit, Belgian waffle and some slight savory/herbal notes.
100% Cabernet from Pritchard Hill (50%), Oakville (12%) and Rutherford (38%). The palate reveals a wine of exceptional weight and balance. It's silky and classy from start to finish. May be the most complete/drinkable wine of the evening. It really flowed well to everyone's liking. Complex, layers of fruit, polished tannins, some balsamic steak notes and even a hint of root beer at one stage later in the evening. Glad I have a couple more of these to go......
