Still shocked at this one comes from Paso Robles. Fairly translucent Garnet. It looks like it has some age on it. Has lots of old world character, tobacco and cedar box, combined with sweet red fruit. I'm always intrigued by this wine.
14.1% abv. Really nice with roast chicken, herbed rice, roasted zucchini, and salad. Fairly light and delicate - especially from a Paso wine - but flavorful and with good depth. Reminded me of Santa Maria Valley Pinot, i.e. tomato leaf character and a little herbal note. This improved as it got air, though it was quite good from the pop 'n pour. In a good spot now and should hold or improve for quite a while. Well made and not spoofed at all. Good stuff!
