  • The wine is clear, with medium amber color, gold rims, and thick legs.
On the nose the wine is clean, with medium plus aroma intensity of ripe white and orange fruits, sweet melon, apricot, apricot pie, apricot jam, orange zest, hints of honey suckle, starting to show hints of almonds and nail polish in the background.
On the palate the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium plus alcohol, medium body, medium plus flavor intensity of ripe white tropical fruits, apricot, banana, melon, hints of guava, lemon pie, apricot jam, mineral notes, hints of white spices.
The wine is of a very good quality, due to its length, complexity and balanced characteristics. It is appealing, generous and enjoyable at time of tasting, but with slight of a green finish, thus might benefit from slight more aging, in order to soften down a bit that feeling and to bring forward more concentrated fruit.

  • Return to Napa; 3/6/2022-3/13/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): On a warm day out on the patio when you're in Napa and mostly drinking red wines it's not bad to take a slightly different approach for the lunch wine. This was drinking quite nicely. Very dry - almost bitter in nature. Had the feel of a bit of age (perhaps even more than I expected) and certainly some oxidation. Fuller bodied. Enjoyable.

  • P'al Pilar Sale lo Mejor ... Un Gigante y un Cabezón(udo); 10/9/2020-10/12/2020 (Alicante - España): Hardly a Zalto glass from a whole bottle for that mania that some waiters have for getting drunk (and maybe even something else) during their service, ruining the evening. Different kind of Zalto glasses, mine for reds, indicates this restaurant can't replace them even.
Meanwhile aromas of tarte Tatin from a caramelised apple with cinnamon. Still young on the palate with grip, acidity and a remarkably structured and yet delicious and surprisingly ripened finish.
If someone hurts the nite, no problem at all: enough, don't returning again.

  • Lovely honeyed color. Initial tastes overwhelmed with stone fruits, even with a decant. Started opening up after 45 minutes.

  • Nice colour slightly oxidised, smell is perfumy and roses like, nice floral notes, loads of earl grey and honey , quince for one of us ...

Nice palate, with good length, fresh and tart, good acid balance, quite long, good wine , for once the Joly is showing well... not happened much in the past
