Lovely, tart and structured aromas of ripe citrus, honey, smoke, lychee and truffle. Dry, tart and focused in the mouth. The wine has improved greatly since last tasted five years ago. A great surprise!

Yellow, and lighter than expected after tasting newer wines from Joly. Lovely aromas of wax, banana, butter and mature citrus, in adition to aromas that reminds of old barrel fermentation. Velvety, waxy mouth feeling with good intensity. Fully mature, but it has an inner strength and intensity that suggests it will last for many years, still.

Lots of Loires: I was pleasantly surprised by this one, as it was leaner and finer than I expected. It first showed a hint of fresh fish and saline, which isn't remotely unpleasant, then chalk emerges and honey fleshes it out. Very well balanced, mineral and crisp, it should evolve gracefully for years to come.

Even better than the last bottle, honeyed fruit with a mineral core and good acidity, quite complex, sensational.

A hint of oxidation on the nose, but fresh lemon and minerals with razor acidity and incredible persistence. Outstanding and with lots of life left.
