Score based on current tasting experience. With much more time and proper maturation my guess is that this is eventually actually a 91-92 point wine. Good wine and a reasonable QPR at our acquisition cost but VERY young right now, born out by fact that on the 3rd day after 2 days of refrigeration this wine had actually significantly improved. 1st of 12 bottles, tasted for maturation and I will wait 3-5 years before trying the next one. Definitely hold not drink right now, not even with a long decant - this wine is just not quite ready yet. I would strongly recommend waiting at least 3-5 more years before thinking of this and given the very solid tannins and acidic fruit core currently present it will probably have at least a good 5-7 years if not longer after that. Tannic, medium bodied, acidic, somewhat disjointed and very fruit forward but all the ingredients are there for significant improvement with further integration, balancing and softening. Right now interestingly black pepper is quite strong on the nose and both black tea and black pepper are significant on the palate.

It certainly wasn't bad, wasn't great. Not enough tanic structure for my tastes. Pretty forgettable. Maybe it just needs a few years to mature up a bit. Not optimistic, but we'll see again in 3 years.

Nose; Cherry Tart, toasty with some wet mushroom, roasted eggplant, mint & soft raked earth. Palate; Fine tannin and moderate acidity. Blue & black fruit with menthol, black tea, soy and a long mineral finish.

Medium bodied, bright and with loads of sweet cherries and licorice on the palate, the wine is juicy, clean and fresh.
