  • Excellent with potential upside
First of four of these and drank beautifully out of the gates, did not decant, had over a few hours. Seamless and leaning modern, warming getting towards boozy but who's complaining, as there's no heat or volatility. It shouts its varietal from the big beginning in the nose, but with air I became surprised it's 100% Grenache as some dark chocolate / coco nibs came in to join kirsch, raspberry puree, N. African spices come in, some plum. A caressing wine.

Even though I'll bet this can go out another 10 years, I think the smart money is on earlier enjoyment.

  • 45 minute decant. Nose of raspberry coulis, rhubarb pie, nutmeg, and raw meat notes. Dark kirsch, fleshy black plym, allspice, cinnamon, and a slight note of raw pumpkin. Spiced black cherries and red plum on the finish with light, flowery tannins, black fruit, and cocoa.

  • After my bottle on 5/8/2021 I was reluctant to try this. The earlier bottle was one of the most closed bottles I've ever had: almost no nose or flavor. This bottle was in a different league, as it was full of cherry and raspberry with a good undercurrent of spice and brambles. Very fruit forward and delicious, with all three of us drinking it commenting on how much we enjoyed it. 93+ at this stage and plenty of life ahead. ScottWhipp's note sums up the experience well.

  • Decanted for 2.5 hours and this wine sang like a bird. Son gave it a 93; me too. Went very well with the Christmas ham, roasted potatoes and roasted veggies. Cornbread was a bit of a stretch, but not unpleasant.

  • Damn good! No formal notes but drinking great upon opening and only got better with air.
