Dark and mysterious for Sangiovese. It almost has a white confidence to it. Fairly savory in flavor, soft texture and no sharp edges yet not flabby at all Like a pair of well fitting jeans. Still some tannins on the finish. Mid palate isn’t thin but expected more bright cherry fruit, and this is more subdued and darker in flavor. This is coming along from the bottle some four years ago. No need to hold and should drink at this level or slightly better for another 5-10 years.

Aerated in decanter 45 minutes, served non-blind. Consistent with my previous note(s): "Quite good, and makes a statement about what was possible in 2014, i.e. weather difficulties. Bettina tells me of the dry, and very hot (40C for ~ 2 weeks) conditions that marked 2014 - but(!) there came a very good respite for the grapes in the final weeks and the quality was quite high. I should be clear, she tells me these things after I've already decided to buy some for my cellar, and after there's a really big grin on my face. I wouldn't call it structured, but it's miles away from flabby or uninteresting. It's a med>full body, with good/very good acidity and a longer, wider finish than I was expecting as well. Truly worthy of Riserva status, though it's going to be an early drinker (thru 2026); I bought some for the cellar here, and will happily pick up more for the cellar in CO. 97% Sangiovese, 3% Canaiolo, with 20 months in (mostly used/older) Fr. oak (barrique/tonneau/botti). 14,5% abv is already fully resolved. There's a LOT of flavor here, a lot of enjoyment. They really nailed the pick date on this one. highly recommended+]/b]

Consistent with my note of two and a half years ago, if slightly more developed. Has taken on the slightest savory/leather edge which is a nice complement to the full-ish nature of the total package. Solid+ structure, more so considering the vintage; completely approachable now, with warm baking spices, fruit pie aromas, and flavors. Just love it, and at this price, head-shakingly good; really long finish. highly recommended+

A good wine - potentially even better with another few years of ageing. Dark fruits, medium/medium+ acidity.
