Decanted three (3) hours. XMAS day paired w/Beef Wellington. Five (5) years removed since last visit. Displays combination of red & black fruit aromas, cherry, raspberry, cranberry, currant, and plum paired with poultry herbs and Asian spice. On the palate arrangement of red fruit flavors are joined with secondary notes of hoisin, earth and, crushed sea shells. Tannins are fine grained and softly textured retaining significant grip. Lively acidity provides measured balance leading to long even finish. Just entering its drinking window. Drinking well now and should be enjoyed for many years ahead.

I realize this would instantly be disqualified as a Pinot Noir given its 15+ABV, however, whatever you would like to call it, it was a superb bottle of grape juice. Only a shade or two darker than a standard PN, it had great bouquet of dark fruit and oriental spices. Tasted exactly as expected from the bouquet -- lots of cherry and currants and some nuanced peppery taste. Tasted alongside a 2005 Abreu Madrona, 2009 Troplong Mondot and a 2009 Bodegas Alto Moncayo Garnacha, and was voted WOTN

Delicious. Well balanced. Ripe berries. Still has a few years to go.
