  • I like it. 30 min decant, finessed glass by lovely glass.

Indulging in the 2016 Barnett Vineyards Rattlesnake Cabernet is akin to embarking on a symphonic journey of flavors that effortlessly harmonize on the palate, leaving an indelible mark on the senses.

This wine is big....real big and it hits you within 30 mins of decant as of July 8th, 2023.

As a renowned musician and affluent Bellevue resident, my discerning taste demands only the most exceptional libations, and as I am currently out of 70's and 80's Bordeaux's (not shipping during the summer, learned my lesson) this wine unequivocally delivers and hits the roth spot.

From the very first sip, this opulent creation showcases its stature, asserting itself with the grandeur of a virtuoso performance. The deep, resonant hues in the glass shimmer with a regal allure, drawing the eye to its rich depths, much like a stage commanding the spotlight.

With each velvety caress, the wine envelops the palate, unfurling layers of complexity that rival the greats of decades past. Its structure and finesse parallel the grandeur of an '80s Rothchild, exuding the elegance and sophistication that have come to define such legendary vintages. Yet, it possesses a distinct character, uniquely its own, reminiscent of the mastery of a '90s Opus.

Upon tasting, the opulence of dark cherries and ripe black currants mingle with whispers of tobacco and dark chocolate. The symphony crescendos with notes of cedar, leather, and a subtle touch of graphite, painting a vivid tapestry of flavor that commands the utmost admiration.

This wine's full-bodied nature and remarkable length make it a magnum opus in itself, leaving a trail of velvet tannins that linger harmoniously on the palate, like a final note of a breathtaking composition.

To savor the 2016 Barnett Vineyards Rattlesnake Cabernet is to experience the epitome of wine excellence. It flawlessly captures the essence of a bygone era while embracing the distinctive characteristics of modern winemaking. This masterpiece warrants a place among the most esteemed collections, a true testament to the heights that wine craftsmanship can achieve.

Raise your glass, my fellow connoisseurs, and allow this extraordinary creation to transport you on an unforgettable vinous odyssey, forever etched in the annals of wine aficionados. Cheers to the symphony in every sip!

  • Decanted for about 30 minutes. This is a BIG wine! Heavy extraction, deep purple fruit. Surprisingly lush for a Spring Mountain. I don’t think it matches it’s price point

  • Decanted and immediately poured but took 15 minutes to really open up. Dark purple in color but somewhat lighter feeling across the palate. Lovely perfumed nose with a somewhat restrained tannic structure that let juicy blueberries, blackberries and black raspberries through on the palate. Medium length finish.
