Drank from a magnum, slow-oxed over 2 days. Acid and tannins weave a beautiful structure that captures the rich fruit concentration, the powerful acidity. A touch of oak to rounds out the mouthfeel. Gentle floral scents blow around the room as you swirl this, keeping the mind relaxed.
There's plenty of stars in this orchestra that could shine on their own, but Cathy's skill as a conductor has allowed them to shine as a group.
I love Cathy's style where you can taste the Cali sunshine without getting knocked out of your seat by a big wine.

Normally the single vineyard/reserve Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is a step up in richness/extraction from the basic Cabernet. In this case the Kronos is a big step up in refinement, and that's from one of the most refined "basic" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons. There's a subtle fruit sweetness that pegs it as a Napa Cab, but the mid-palate and finish are about layers of complexity, woven together like a needlepoint on fine silk. The bumps of the stitches are the tannins, with the entire piece stretched across the frame. It's in a state of tension right now, tannins and acidity volleying with the fruit in an evenly matched game. The oak is a supporting player, along for the ride, but never driving. Balance and elegance are the key words, and a long life is ahead of the wine. Outstanding.

Really great wine. I'm bummed that I drank through my last bottle. As many reviewers mentioned, it's in a perfect drinking window.
This is what great CA cab is all about. Mint, cigar box, candied cranberry, and graphite. Tannins are perfectly integrated and virtually non-existent.
drink now through 2030.
