A very nice puligny, but I must confess I was expecting a little more and was therefore slightly disapointed. I am not familiar with Coche's Puligny, and on this occasion I hesitated with a 2012 Rougeots that was identically priced on the wine-list. Should have gone for the Rougeot I think. This is very nicely balanced, has great purity and freshness, but I did not get the wow effect I had on almost every occasion tasting a Coche white wine. It simply lacks depth and complexity, while making a most decent Puligny villages ultimately.
Good but not great (for the Coche standards that is).

Big and weighty, became more precise and linear with air. Signature Coche ripe fruit, acidity and reduction - I thought this was fantastic! I'd definitely recommend giving this a little air if you're drinking it today.

Decanted and drank over 3 hours. Buttery nose with lemon oil and mint. As it warms, the steely backbone of the wine comes through. Medium-bodied, what was most remarkable was the silkiness of the texture that glides and coats the palate. There is such purity and concentration here but this to me is not a showy or intense wine. Alcohol was imperceptible. Medium long finish. Somm insisted it was too young but we felt it was performing well today.

More citrus than matchstick aromatically. Round, generous palate.

La Fête du Champagne Gala (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Small gala glass. Ripe apple and pear with faintly tropical hints, very good depth, just less complex textures than typical for this Coche-Dury cuvee.
