Benvenuto Brunello NYC (Gotham Hall): Benvenuto Brunello NYC. Glossy website, slick photos and enthusiastic Suckling scores. On top of that, I found velvety, but I never did find soul, or freshness, just a style, and some anonymity.
Tasted at Benvenuto Brunello NYC. Light to medium ruby color. Lighter than the 2013 with a less forward nose that is quite reticent, just getting a little spice and red fruit. Palate is cherry, red raspberry and some minerals along with a medium long finish. Slight step backward overall relative to the 2013... Not that interesting.

A very nice bottle. Flavours of mushroom and earth, some licorice. Tart red fruit as well. Bright acidity with a clean finish.

Tasted (& bought 6) at the Vancouver International Wine Festival.
Absolutely loved this wine - black currants & sour cherry with violets, cedar, clove and tar on the very savory nose.
Consistent on the palate with fine, dusty tannin.
