  This really is a real treat. A fully mature, good quality Rioja. I give it the same very good score as last time a few weeks ago, plus 2... Maybe because this is my last bottle unfortunately. I don’t think anymore actually exists anywhere. Looked everywhere! FULLY MATURE beautiful Rioja. Probably at or just after its peak. Tonnes of sediment. If I tasted it blind and someone told me it was a $125 bottle I would believe them!

  A fully mature very nice Rioja. 2001 was one of the best vintages ever in La Rioja and this wine is lovely. Not outstanding, but very nice and enjoyable. Decanted 1.5 hrs. Great QPR for $50.

  Closed down with 3-4 hours in carafe and thru aerator. Finally at dinner it opened up to my relief (6 hours open). Earth,leather and dried leaf integrated with dark fruit. All very smooth and subtle. Very nice. Will leave last bottle in cellar for 2-3 more years.

  The nose showed tobacco and underbrush up front with notes of cherry and crushed fall leaves. On the palate, it was soft with balanced acidity, showing sweet red fruits, earth and saline minerals. The finished was staying and slightly tart yet highly enjoyable.
