Medium straw in color. It smells like honey, petrol and something else I can't quote put my finger on. Big, perfumy nose. The taste is exactly like the nose -- no false advertising here -- but I'd add some stoniness and maybe pine. There's a slight bitterness to it as well. Dry to off dry, but the honey notes seem to give it a hint of sweetness. 13.2% ABV, so the sweetness may be my imagination. The body is light/medium. The wine finishes medium with high acidity.
I've only had a couple of dry Gewürztraminers, and am beginning to think they're not my cup of tea.

$12 picnic, party, appetizer Mendocino County Gewurztraminer '17 Alexander Valley Gewurz. Sarp mid-gold; floral, star jasmine and fig nose; mid-body; low acids; residual sugar comes through on the soft fruity finish.

Good American style Gewurztraminer with hint of Riesling nose, but dry on the palate. Best before a meal, in the heat, with shade, and hard cheese pairing.
