Nose of red cherries, roses, mint, and alder wood. Inky dark black cherry and black plum palate with black pepper and acidity delivering a lot of energy. A long lingering and brooding finish of rounded tannins, dark red fruit, earth, leather, and a touch of beef jerky.

PnP. Dark fruit, smoked meat, singed orange peel, and a bit of oxidized Madeira on the nose. Dense black raspberry and dark fruits with a strong backbone of tannins, acidity, and minerals. Fat tannins with dark boysenberry, black fruits, slightly oxidized note, and long wet earth. It has the density to hold but I'm doubtful it improves. Strongly recommend a careful decant due to the huge amount of sediment.

After work quick session at ESBK. Drank in Riedel stemless. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Long thick legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of vanilla oak, cocoa powder, mocha, black plums, blackberries, black cherries. Youthful. On the palate, dry, soft medium+ acidity, high alcohol (15.5%), plushy velvety medium+ tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of blackberries, black cherries, vanilla beans, cocoa powder oak, black pepper spices, leathery meat. Long finish. Very good quality. Serious blockbuster style CdP. Quite well-done in fact as it doesn't go over the top. With some 5-6 years more of age should be just nice. 50% Syrah, 50% Grenache. At least 50% new French oak used.

After opening a bottle of the 2012 last Thanksgiving, I bought a few 2016 in hopes that they are as good. They are. Deep and dense purple with a great nose. Stewed black cherries, blackberries, and plums overlaid with with just the right amount of smoke and spice. This is a classic CNdP - good QPR!

Deep in color, the wine is full bodied, round, fleshy and fresh. Ripe black cherry with peppery spice and herbs flows easily. Rich and concentrated, some bottle age will add more depth, softness and complexity to the wine. The wine was made from 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah.
