  • very similar to my last tasting note - nose of mature dark fruit, graphite, and white flowers - full rich mouth of mature black fruits, spice (not sure exactly which), soft ripe tannins, and fresh acidity - full bodied, but not alcoholic - not a particularly long finish, but long enough to remember the charm of this fully mature Toro wine - tasted alongside a 2002 Alion: the Alion was smoother and easier to drink, but the Pintia was much more interesting, and better balanced - a beautiful mature Spanish tempranillo

  • Bachelor Party in Hilton Suite. Drank over 1.5 hours. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Sediments at end of bottle.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of earth, blackberries, black cherry liqueur, black plums, underlying redcurrant, hint of mushrooms with more air. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), rich luxurious integrated high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of mushroomy dark warm moist earth, blackberries, black cherries, black plums, dark spices, and black tea leaves with more air. Long finish.
Very good quality. The finest and oldest Toro I have had so far. Big but lovely. Prime time drinking.

  • a beautiful wine - the last tasting note was from 2013 - I'm sure it was great then, but the wine has added an elegance that only comes with maturity - Toro and elegance?? you need to give it more time to see that evolution - nose of mature dark fruit, graphite, and white flowers - full rich mouth of mature black fruits, spice (not sure exactly which), soft ripe tannins, and fresh acidity - full bodied, but not alcoholic - not a particularly long finish, but long enough to remember the charm of this fully mature wine
