Medium garnet with no obvious signs of aging. Brilliant aromatics of dark cherry, graphite, iodine and Ceylon tea with some sweetness in the mix. A creamy entry, good intensity and quite full through the mid-palate with oodles of dark fruit. But the tannins from the new oak quickly overtake the fruit on the modest, drying finish. Well-made for sure but I suspect its best days may have sailed. I would suggest drinking this wine now alongside some aged cheese or other food that can hold up to those fierce tannins.

In the bouquet dark berries and some sweet spices. Same on the palate, chocolate, good acidity, mature tannin and pleasant sweet impressions. Beautiful wine, fully mature now.

Pintia 2010, I really love Pintia with a little age. This vintage was really good, but not a top vintage for me, the acidity from 2005, 2007 and 2008 is even better. Will give remaining bottles from 2010 a few more years in the cellar. But, still a very good wine!

Beautiful aged Pintia, the entry level wine or 4th wine of Vega Sicilia: bramble, soft vanilla, plum, tobacco, soft clove, leather note, blackberry, dark chocolate, medium to full body, long black fruit sweat finish.
