Delicious Chardonnay from Sixto. White peaches, toast and a hint of pineapple, this wine was also lush and rich. Wonderful mouthfeel and a finish that lasted for 30 seconds. There are tannins here and this wine will continue to develop for another couple of years. Not as enthralling as, say, Dutton Ranch Kistler, but just as focused and beautifully made. The Sixto wines are stunners.

Solid Chardonnay from Washington - the nose leaps from the glass revealing buttery notes of orange, peach, pineapple, pear, and a touch of honey. Medium to full-bodied, super oily and rich in the mouth, balanced, and no hard edges, really enjoyable! Not quite as large-scaled or complex as the 2015 Patz Hall Hyde Vineyard recently tasted, but very similar and certainly in the same league.

That also smells pre-moxed. Or very old. The winery makes caramel corn Chardonnay.

K Vintners & Sixto & Substance Tasting; 6/18/2019-4/26/2020 (Walla Walla Tasting Room): Mild oak, pear, Carmel and spices. Complex wine and nice finish. This should drink well for another five plus years.

With a touch of malo on the nose. Or lots of malo on the nose. Butternut squash. And brown butter.
