14.5% alcohol; produced and bottled by Januik Winery, Woodinville, Washington; the cork is slightly longer than standard -- 48 mm, with an unexpectedly long wine seepage into the cork -- 39 mm; when the cork is first pulled out of the bottle, there is a vigorous shaft of pure red-grape/generic-cherry aroma which, after a few minutes, subsides into a cork-hay-cherry me'lange; the foil is HEAVY; we are just about to start our move from Port St Lucie to Palm Bay in Florida and there are no non-plastic 'glasses' available, but swishing in plastic indicates that the legs are at least medium; as for color, it is a very-dark red/brown/purple; the wine was opened, vinturied, and tasted 20 minutes later at room temperature -- 25 degrees C; the nose is tickled by heavy tannins, alcohol, and a heavy generic red fruit (berries, stone fruit, seed fruit), also OAK, OAK, and a scattering of spices in a weak cloves/cinnamon/cardamom me'lange; full bodied, heavy on the tannins and perceived alcohol content, both sweet and sour cherries, Granny Smith apples, wood, and maybe even a bit of licorice; long finish is very dry to the point of some bitterness, but with good effect in sewing up the loose ends from further forward on the tongue; pair with Kobe beef heated on a charcoal or gas grill with smoldering pecan wood chips, or prepare the meat in a stew with lots of meat and vegetables; traditional Ochsenschwanz (ox tail) also comes to mind; I can't fault the first reviewer's 93

Simply delicious. Lots of fruit - blueberry, Vassos plum and dark red cherry. Aromas of oak and chocolate, with an herbal undertone. Rich and full bodied with a never ending finish.
