  • Better than Yellow Tale or Little Penguin, but that's about all. 2002 is probably past it's prime, fruit is fading.

  • Drank over 3 days. An older everyday syrah, which I needed to drink after seven years in the bottle. Day 1: Nose of strawberry, and assorted berries, a little bit muted. Wine is smooth, w/o a whole lot of flavor, easy quaffer. Day 2: Wine has opened up a little, slightly richer, good at this stage. Day 3: Wine has really blossomed, very pleasantly suprised by this, delicious flavors of blackberry, blueberry...rich and complex. Have 1 left, will decant next time...for an inexpensive Washington syrah, very nice.

  • First bottle was corked. Returned for second bottle. Tired. Tepid. Uninspiring. Tried a third bottle because I really want to like this wine but same results. Maybe the vintage. Perhaps a bad batch?

  • This syrah is drinking very well now. Black currant, strawberry, and cherry along w/cinnamon toast on the finish. A medium to full bodied texture, this wine was a little tight on day 1. Day 2 the wine had really opened up, wonderful, deep flavor and lengthy finish. Solid, complex wine, that will pair well w/all kinds of grilled meats; steaks, chicken even burgers...food friendly and excellent for BBQ quaffing.
