Dank over several nights, first night with filet minion and fresh, smoked trout. The wine came off a bit more syrupy and stewed fruits than previous bottles, with some noticeable heat. Better on night 2. Not a bad bottle but not the blockbuster of previous bottles.

98....maybe a 99. Honestly, I asked myself 2 years ago after the last bottle how anyone could make a wine this good? It's an easy 1-2 points better than the 97 I gave it back then. Loads of cassis......so much so that Caroline felt it had a liqueur component to it.....after an hour or two of air this lessened and the smooth red/black fruit and soft rounded tannins and perfectly balanced acidity were very near 'perfection'. I wish I had more of this, but alas, it was the last. These '15 B Cellars were the wines that swung me to them at first and they are not dissapointing in the least. Bravo, Kirk Venge and bravo, B Cellars. Great with a grilled filet.......
