By far the best of the wines received from the WSJ.com wine club shipment. At four plus years, this is starting to show some complex terroir and mineral driven notes followed by barely ripe peach, tangy citrus, green melon, and crunchy pear. High acidity indicates it’s not seen malo or only partial MLF, while the pale lemon color and only distant secondary notes (vanilla, spice, butter, butterscotch) reflect judicious use of oak. Strong finish. Very good.

Peach and lemon notes gives this chardonnay a fresh nose. Add to that Smokey notes with vanilla. A dry taste with high acidity also brings freshness to the flavourprofile. Not bad...

Unripe pear and lemon lead the way, with secondary notes of mixed herbs and mineral in tow. Sports ample acidity, and a skosh of oak hovers throughout, coalescing on the surprisingly long finish.

Classy Mersault like nose, lovely fruit & complexity. Dry & full on the palate with a lingering finish. An excellent bottle of chardonnay.

Well the answer to my question was that the next bottle was a bit better, more rounded and pleasant
