  In very good condition, top shoulder, although the completely soaked cork indicates that this may have been a good moment to open the bottle. Healthy, brilliant colour with quite some orange tones indicating its age. The nose starts with strong smoky and meaty notes, after some hours weaker, giving way to nites that remind me of seaweed, some old furniture, too. Completely tertiary on the nose with hardly any fruit left. In the mouth, medium volume, the same notes as in the noes, but some cherry fruit still shining through. Medium+ acidity. Good tannic structure, fine to medium-grained, which at first seems to overpower the wine but after some time comes into a nice balance. Opened for my brother, born the same year (who unfortunately only appreciates sweet wines...), with the inevitable jokes whether the wine or my brother is in better shape in 2023. Let´s say that there is no clear winner ;)
