Quite a nice glass of wine. Still purple in the color, however, the edges are a bit watery and show the age of the wine. Nose is powerful and expressive. There is perhaps a bit too much alcohol that is not hidden anymore by fruit. Medium full bodied, tannins are reasonably smooth but have not disappeared (decanted the bottle an hour and a half before drinking). The wine is almost sweet, ripe fruits, good long aftertaste with some dryness from tannins.

Dark and powerful still, but based on previous notes some of the lighter elements of fruit have faded. But still a monolithic core of dark fruit, minerals and tannins that will survive another decade.

Tasted very well but I found it somewhat burly and lacking in finesse. Darker fruit and oak notes still pronounced despite nearly 15 years with little tertiary development. Would love to try again in 10 years but that was my only bottle....

Nose with dark berries, especially cassis and ripe damson. Smokey oak and a hint of ash-tray. Licorice. Still gripping tannins and firm structure, reflecting the cooler vintage, also susceptible acidity. The fruit-flavors and the smokey notes mirror the nose. Medium-bodied and medium finish. Not sure whether it will still positively evolve but I would suspect it to last several more years.

Powerful and elegant. Loads of dark fruit, over a nice transparent layer of red berries. Dry, earthy finish that stays for quite a long time. In a very good spot right now, but bones to carry at least five more years.
