Dark golden colour. There is a dominating scent of varnish and glue. Attractive mouthfeel, creamy and viscous. Goes very well with graved salmon with a sweet sauce. Despite its scent still interesting and tasty.

Was worrying for the bottles I still have after the last comment from 2015 I read here. It must surely have been a bad bottle...
In july 2019 the 1996 bottle was perfect. Not over the hill at all. Evolution still nice.
Old gold colored, exotic fruits, noble rot, well balanced, long aftertaste, creamy, just perfect. I think it would still go up to 2025... Maybe what helps is that my cellar is cold, humid, quiet and very stable (excellent conditions).

There must be some incredible bottle variations or just storage issues going on, because the reviews from respected tasters are all over the place. My bottle was old and tired. Little to no fruit. Not much acid. Dull. Just kind of heavy and cloying. I love la tour blanche so this was just a rare miss for me.

Mahogany color, simple, hints of burnt orange, apricot, quite dry for a sticky, drink soon.

Some nice marmalade notes but not the cleanest and perhaps even starting to dry out.
