Super dark garnet coloring with no bricking on the rim. Lots of cherry, kirsch and herbal notes. Still powerful, but incredibly smooth. Great with grilled pork tenderloin. Just took 20 years for the wine to reach its peack.

DAVESB was *so* wrong 9 years ago! This wine really has hit its stride, now, as VINOLOVERS attested last year. The tannins have completely melded into the fruit, making this a wonderful wine that was perfect with our baked pasta dish. Quite a bit of sediment in it, and the cork broke up, but this is hardly a shock after nearly two decades. Nice to have those straining caps that we bought a few years ago. If you still have this in your cellar, NOW (and for another couple of years) is the time to open this up and enjoy it. Our thanks to the Beckmens for allowing us to purchase this from their personal library!

A nice medium garnet coloring when pouted. Blueberry notes, followed by some plum and herbal notes. The wine has finally matured with the tannins dropping away leaving a smooth wine perfect for grilled meat. Hard to believe it's just now hitting its stride.

The color when poured bordered on the purple of a young wine, so I'll call it a mature purple! The flavors of blueberry, kirsch, and some herbal notes in a smooth but powerful wine. The tannins lurk just below the surface, but this wine has some time to grow. Quite good!

Beautiful structure! Quite the berry bomb! Still tannins! Love a 16 year old syrah! Great wine!
