Bright red color. Nose is a little closed, earthy, some red cherry peaking out. Good concentration on the palate, medium+ tannin and acidity but very soft, already well integrated. A little spicy, mineral and dark cherry. Finishes a little short and sour. Good value.

Tasted blind. Several hours of air in 250ml Xoss glass bottle already. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of rubber reduction, smoke, integrated oak toast, dark red cherries, hint of earth, some shy hidden floral elements. Developing. On the palate, dry, juicy high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), smooth medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of ripe dark red cherries, smoke, dark earth, licorice. Long finish. Very good quality. Well-made. Still young. Feels good on the palate, but in need of more age to realize its full potential. The 2017 of this was more open and accessible.

La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Walk around tasting, in 16/15/13 vertical. Perfumed and floral start with black and red cherry. Great nose, then big and powerful start with similar and rich fruit, just not quite as engaging as the wine’s nose. More texturally bright from middle forward with minerally textures that are brighter, but this needs a few years in the cellar to harmonize better. 90-91 point potential.

With Faiveley’s Fuees fresh in mind, this H-B Charmes made for a nice contrast. It’s a showy, accessible Chambolle with good medium freshness and plenty of ripe red fruit, attractive warming spice and some earth accents. Really like the balance to this, it shows good concentration while having an airy elegance to it. While not as dark or deep as the Fuees, it still has somewhat firm tannins, with good length on the finish.
