Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 83 points

  • 13,5% alcohol, 7,3 g/l acidity.

Very pale, thin grassy green color. Very heady and expressive, but also disturbingly vegetal nose that feels stuffy and lacking all the freshness due to the pyrazinic aromas of canned asparagus, cucumber and currant leaves. The wine is pure, light-bodied and very crisp on the palate with racy, straightforward flavors of lemony citrus fruits, tart passion fruit, some canned asparagus, a little bit of crushed nettles and a hint of cut grass. The bracing acidity makes the wine feel very structured. The finish is bright and racy with pure, fresh and rather one-dimensional flavors of tart lemony citrus fruits, some passion fruit, a little bit of grassy greenness and a hint of asparagus.

A wine that is very true to the variety. Good sense of structure and freshness here, but the nose feels quite unpleasant - even somewhat repugnant - which takes its toll on the score. With a bit more reasonable winemaking the wine could've easily scored 10 points more - now it feels just overdone and excessively green, as if the only way to make good Sauvignon Blanc is to emphasize the vegetal characteristics of the variety. Not really a wine for my taste, priced according to its quality at 12€.
