Glassware: Grassl Cru Prep: Decant an hour before first sip
I opened a 2015 of this a few weeks ago which was flat and uninteresting. This on the other hand was very pleasant. Lightly stewed strawberry, raspberry, black cherry, purple flowers, and a nice core of savory herbs and stony minerality. Nice density on the palate, with a fine tannic grip. Though this is 13% ABV there is a little heat on the back end. Would drink now, with food, while the fruit is still there.

Similar to my previous note. Slightly improved nose on this bottle a few years later, but still muted - more savory than fruity. Juice itself remains sublime. Lovely, but still feels a bit unfinished without that pop in your nose.

Holding nicely with some violet floral aromatics, dark fruit, medium tannins , savory earth and good length. I will make every attempt to save my last bottles of Ahurani for a comparison tasting with Kelley’s Momtazi and Maresh cuvee’s from ‘16 and ‘15 Such elegant wines she conjures.

Ok. Expected more of something. Maybe it’s just shut down?

Mid weight, mix of red and blue fruits along with some savory herbs and damp earth. Well balanced, years ahead of it.
