Terrific with Thanksgiving spread. From magnum. Opened up in the glass. Berries and rose on the nose. Still had plenty of fruit, smooth mouth texture and just hints of pepper and spice. Had shifted just slightly to the earthy side compared to younger vintages. Deep finish.

Love this wine! Sometimes we get "involved" in detailing the wine. This time I am adding thoughts about pairings - this wine is "strong" enough to standup to a grilled steak (although there are other wines that would pair better) and also pair with salmon (grilled or seared). It is a heavier pinot than some from Sonoma (yes - I know Dom Carneros straddles both Napa and Sonoma), but referring more to coastal and Russian River. Hope this helps.

Perhaps a fluke or something else, but this ONE bottle was not as enjoyable as some identical others (same vintage - same storage) - go figure? The wine did improve the more chance it got to sit and open up.
