This has always struck me as a rather stern wine with promising aromas of dark cherry and plum skin leading to earthy notes of dried leaves and light nutmeg with hints of cured meats. The medium bodied palate teeters on the edge of ripeness but ultimately leans towards structure with finely grained tannins carrying through the finish.

All pretty red fruit with good weight and an exceedingly gentle, elegant structure that has a very nice, unforced quality to it. It lacks a little bit in intensity and complexity though that the best Gevrey village wines can have, and which it really needs at this price.

Consumed over 6 hours. At first somewhat reticent, specially on the finish with prominent acidity despite the bright black fruit on the front. With time the rest of the palate develops quite nicely and develops some nice length. The fruit also gets a bit darker. This is very clean and bright burgundy - very much my kind of wine. Pretty good value for village (relatively speaking, of course!)

While the Chambolle Musigny was thrilling and delicious as a baby, this bottle is a little bigger, tighter, and rustic. I can sense great underlying parts, but this baby needs time...

Brilliant. So delicate, perfumed, and focused - really light, transparent red fruited flavours augmented by floral, earthy, and stony notes that become more complex and intense as this spends more time in the glass. So glad I bought a bunch of this.
