  • 2013 still drinking well in 2024. Smooth, tobacco and woody fruit on the nose. Elegant mature tanins. Light-medium bodied. Moderate finish. Lovely wine.

  • In a beautiful place right now. I obeyed my own recommendation and decanted.4 hrs ahead of dinner. Paired with tagliatta, it was an inspired choice…Fresh, bright, light-bodied but layered with overlapping fruit and herbal notes, with a long, high finish. I have more of this to look forward to in coming years and am very pleased that I do!

  • Aired this out for 2 hours then tasted. Classic brunello nose of red/black cherry, sweet balsamic, tobacco, dried leaves, and an herbal character. The palate at first was a bit underwhelming. While very classic and elegant, it was lacking a bit of depth and length. However this just kept developing and at the 5 hour mark it had really stepped up to the plate. Much more depth and some new tertiary aromas developed that actually reminded me a bit of Bordeaux like tobacco pipe and cigar box. Chalky tannins and acid held up after 5 hours as well. A quality wine and at first I did not think this was worth the price but now I reckon it is. If you are going to drink now air this thing out, trust me--even if it doesn't seem wound up initially. Otherwise, hold for 3-5 years and drink over the next ~10.

  • Nose of red cherry, raspberries, and red roses with birch wood and a honeycomb note. Wide swath of sticky tannins followed by dark cherry, chewy dark plum fruit, sawdust and a strong note of rose water. Focused finish with polished tannins, leather, dried herbs, fleshy red fruits, and soft earth. This wine can develop further. 93+ points.

  • This starts getting good after 2+ hours of decant. An equal mix of savory and fruit. Dark cherry, herbs, sweet tobacco, leather, and a bit of flowers.
