Brought to regular tasting group, served blind, at cellar temp, Slow-O 1 hr. Textbook varietal and regional typicity. There were a few more new world Cab Franc examples at this tasting than there were old world, and little surprise this was not one of the standout wines. Which was fine by me, because this had everything I was looking for in 6 yr old Bourgueil that I paid $15 for years ago. Secondary characteristics seem on the cusp, acids and fruit will outlive the tannins here. Drink thru 2014, 12% abv, score: B+

This Cab Franc does not disappoint. I have grown partial to single varietal CF because I feel it has a refined bouquet that is delicately blackberry and lightly jammy with the sharpness of pencil shavings on the edge. The palette is equally enjoyable and refined with a lingering black fruit finish. Excellent QPR at this price. Planning to definitely buy more!!!

a fascinating experience to be able to taste a sole varietal, Cabernet Franc. I was pleasantly overwhelmed with the perfume like character: at first a more effeminate floral quality, and, with accumulation and drinking, an almost musky masculine perfume. I have identified this grape as a major factor which had pleased me and brought me to appreciate the "noble" quality of the Fleur Cardinale.

Gravelly, harsh. Good and elusive, but not fantastic, for $17 probably would not buy again.
