Nose: clean, pronounced aromas of dark fruit: blackberry, plum. Hints of fig, liquorice. Powerful!
Palate: wine is dry. Med (+) acidity. Med (-) tannin, fine-grained. Med alcohol. Med (-) body. Med (+) intensity flavors of dark fruit: blackberry with secondary hints of raisin, crunchy grape seed pith. Finish is unexpectedly abrupt - flavors die away quickly and leave me thirsty for another gulp...
Conclusion: Wine is very good. This is a very ripe, light-bodied Bourgueil (almost stylistically out of place insofar as how the primary fruit flavors are driving the bus), which should still be pleasurable for another 1 - 3 years before the lovely primary fruit characteristics die away and leave behind something akin to flat coca-cola or cooking wine. Drink right now, straight-away, immediately, this very instant (preferably with a prime rib bistro sandwich with au jus)!!

A little muted but very gamey overall.

Russk. Not compelling, but got better over time.
