Flower day - small amount of sediment - lemon zest, touch of funk, red (raspberry) and dark fruit (plum) on the nose. Medium bodied with citrus attack followed by dried fruit and roses along with dark chocolate and licorice root. Tannins are resolved but still present and a touch stemmy (not a bad thing as they balance the fruit). The finish is medium plus in length with spice and licorice notes. Definitely drink now as I doubt it will gain more softness and the fruit will dry out.

Popped and poured. Full dense ruby color with lightening edges. Smoky earth notes on the bouquet along with plum, raspberry, coffee and spice. Dark musky ripe fruit on the palate with hints of slate, graphite and earth. Juicy acid and smooth yet rustic feel. Firm tannins along a lingering finish with hints of cedar and black pepper as well as the fruit. The fruit on this is hitting its stride, still needs a little time on the acid and tannin.

OK but nothing special. Very rustic and a bit bitter. The tannins have not yet resolved. Some more time in the bottle might help.

Raw and explosive. Certainly a standout in a rustic sorta way.

Settling down nicely, but it's still all tannin and violets...very interesting.
