Almost 3 years since my last one of these and man-o-man.....this one is showing little to no signs of slowing down. Decanted for an hour, then slow ox'd during/after dinner til gone. Extremely dark in the glass.....the nose is toned down a bit with black/blue fruit a little earthy/briar component and a touch of graphite but the palate, whew! Still big, bold, dark, juicy fruit, some tobacco, milk chocolate, and maybe fig? It is dense, dense, dense in fruit concentration and overall structure with big weight in the mouth, too...it's a sipper only, you can't gulp it, it's almost like sipping and enjoying the finest bourbon in its present state...I would have liked to have seen what a longer decant would have done, if it would have toned the palate down a tad but alas, dinner was ready, and family was more than ready to drink. While nicely integrated on all fronts I'm left wondering if this big boy would ever mellow down? This was almost 'dessert' in a bottle.

This wine is truly stunning. The purity of the fruit, the complexity—with minerals and and butterscotch and a million other good things. The high abv was unnoticeable (until the morning—lol), tannins perfectly integrated and the acid cranked up just the way I like it. Thank you Mark for procuring this one for me, although now I am ruined because I can’t afford to drink this every day, can’t find more, and nothing else will ever compare. Equally good on day 2. Excellent on PnP. Excellent with green eggs and ham.
Just a beautiful, well balanced, well structured LPV. PNP and drank along side a 15 Carter Weitz and a 16 B cellars Mizz Hopper, this was WOTN. This wine offered great dark fruit characteristics, great weight, fine integrated tannins and pleasing mouthfeel tempered just a bit, to put just under the threshold of fruit bomb. Just the way I like them.
Nose and finish were very good. This wine rates a 97 to me.
This bottle was the WOTN, no questions asked.....at least for the first hour. It had power, fruit, depth, vibrancy, length, acidity, structure, balance....you get the drift. The fruit turned a bit to the darker, blacker side after an hour of air from the dark red/raspberry it started with. Maybe some coffee grounds, too? What a wonderful bottle.....thanks again Jimbo!

An absolutely splendid bottle for dinner at Cibo. Dense, multi layered fruit and sweet integrated tannins. This wine is just too good......
