A fantastic dolcetto that’s really aged nicely. Still fairly tannic but there’s ample plummy fruit and some savory undertones that elevate the wine. Having had a lot of dolcetto from great producers like G Rinaldi, Brovia, etc- this is a standout and an excellent rendition of the grape.

Might be the 2nd best Dolcetto I've had to date. (Bartolo Mascarello being the best so far.) Initial decant to big fresh cherries and musky lows.
15 minutes later after the first pour: Big black dense nose of black fruit. There's a sharp acid upward twist. Palate of round open fruit. Black dark tars, very tarry and long good acid that is very balanced. Yum! Opened to more cherries and fruits. Palate had dusty tannins, soft and round: A very good wine. Was even better with lamb. Black fruit and tars: DELISH!

Pnp. Nice fruit aroma up front, boysenberry and blackberry with some earthy notes. Definitely fruit forward style, but subdued. The fruit carried over to the palate with some dusty floral notes as well. Tannin was present, but not very pronounced. Medium finish. Really enjoyable for me, and a really good value as well at about $28 / bottle. I only had the 1 bottle, but I’ll definitely look for some more.

Knightsbridge Tasting: A real pleasant surprise especially at this price point. Dark spicy plum and rich red fruits with nice zest and spice. Simply a very good flavor profile even if not a wine to overly ponder. Bravo!

Giacosa tasting at Knightsbridge Wine Shoppe (Chicago, IL): I liked this more than others today, and in fact I hadn't realized that I had tasted this a few years ago at the same event. In any case, this has picked up more of a juicy character and plenty of plumminess (though others thought it was a bit stewed). A nice dusty quality as well and plenty of tannins as well. Nonetheless, the forward fruit character makes this more of a wine to drink now.
