The nose is enchanting, with a light smoke and fresh white flowers.
Lovely golden hue. I was sure that some of that aromatic complexity was going to come through on the palette, but I found a muted rendering dominated by surprisingly fresh melon and apricots. The choice sweetness level is balanced off by a powerful but well rounded acidity.
In short, nose and balance are ++ but detracted by muted flavor.

Lots of interest here and nice to have something different. Smoky, vanilla oak, peach, minerals, gooseberry, maybe something like anise. Sparking acidity that really drives the long flavours. So good and sure to age a treat.

On why you should drink more Loire Chenin: chalk and flint on the opening, quickly thereafter revealing wax, concentrated pure citrus, yellow apple, nuts, some vanilla and fennel. Pure grapefruit, lemon, yellow and green apple - with richness nicely constrained by the distinct Chenin acidity, mineral notes and a slight peel bitterness. Lovely balanced and long finish, weighted towards minerals, acidity and a whiff of smoke. Coche-ish reductivity. Dig this one.

Stunning! Aromas of spice, licquorice and preserved lemons. Huge acidity lifting citrus and more preserved lemon - tannin?
