Community Tasting Notes (6) Avg Score: 93 points

  • I'm really digging this. Green peppers, wild underbrush, black pepper. Cherry red fruits. Thick and viscous. A wall of tannins. Long herbaceous finish. Drinkable now, but will be even better in a few years.

  • Another convincing rendition of this wine. Young for sure still but already approachable due to the style that is made. Expressive nose with earthy and barnyard scents intermixed with red cherry fruit. My friend found that the funky scents almost too pronounced. Crisp palate, with good acidity and well managed tannins. There is structure but it is pleasant and the wine stays elegant. Gone are the days of the rustic Pommard. A convincing 1er Cru with a great QPR. 94-95

  • I hope the wine is in a dumb phase; although it had an expressive nose the palate was not as impressive as I last recalled.

Nose: Lovely nose of brambly dark red/purple fruit: 93-94?
Palate: High toned black raspberry, juicy black cherry. Med+ acidity that feels a bit shrill. Fine tannin with a med+ long finish. 91-92?

    * I had allergy to the wine (severity: mild, breadth: large, time: long).

  • Nose: Aromatic nose of sweet red raspberry, black cherry, dried berries and cool earth (is this slight Brett?)

Palate: cool red fruit (with that black cherry note) that is slightly sweet raspberry, dried raspberry and savory cranberry with a lift of acidity. The nose follows through in the palate with that earthiness. medium acidity.

Structure: fine drying tannin, but not overbearing. The fruit outlast the tannins.

Overall this is really, really good but lacks a certain oomph factor. Too much restraint? Could use slightly more depth to the fruit? Slightly more acidity? Slightly more structure? But still quite solid, with cool fruit, earth and structure. 93.

  • Plenty of spice to the nose, with some freshly grated ginger and aniseed mixing it up with dried flower and black cherry notes. It has a deep, sweet core and ample structure. It is complex, nicely balanced and very long.
