Black raspberry, boysenberry, tar, leather, spice, dark chocolate. Medium-plus body. Medium acidity. Medium-light tannins. Medium-plus finish. Drink now or in the next 2-3 years.

Technically a Zin cause of 76%, but the 18% petite Syrah has quite an impact given its boldness. Don’t sense much of the Barbera (I do love barbera, too). Nose is not briary like many Zins. Dark fruits for sure, with tar, maybe some espresso type notes. If I was told this was something other than Zin (Syrah) I could believe it. Regardless, very good. A couple more years might soften the tannins I’m getting.

Black raspberry, candied cherries, tar, cedar, spice. Medium-full body. Medium-plus acidity & finish. Medium-light tannins still present. Fine now, but could probably use some more time.

well balanced Zin blend with 76% Zinfandel, 18% petite Syrah and 6% Barbera. The petite Syrah gives it more weight and the Barbera - which is lighter than the DGOC Italian varietals - give us a long finish.
Unti seems to consistently punch above its weight and I continue to be impressed with their wines across the board.
