Interesting wine.....tart cranberry at the opening.
Decanted 4 hours and enjoyed over 3-4 more. It def improves with more air, becoming deeper, broader, softer. HMC blindly guessed the grape and got within a year of the vintage. Becomes chalkier, darker with air past 5-6 hours. There's a savory, earthy component throughout. I'm going to hold my other bottles a while longer as I think there may be a point or two more in there......my last bottle reflected that much but the aging brings out a different animal. The acidity tells me this one has many years ahead of it......

I love this (as I knew I would). No real notes as the was a pnp. This could have used a decant of a few hours. To me, this felt very young. I believe this didn’t have any added Tannat, only blended with PV. The abv is a little high, but barely noticeable. Strong hold! Chris Carpenter’s Merlots never disappoint ...

Inky dark in color. Lush blackberry and dark red fruit flavors are well integrated along with flavors of cigar box and dark chocolate. Finishes somewhat dry with fine grained tannins. Just starting to shed some sediment. Plenty of life left but drinking beautifully now. A fairly big, yet fine wine.

Much better than the other bottle that I had last week. Opened nicely. More silky. Great bottle of Merlot. Cheers
